With a first-in-class ten-speed automatic transmission and a military-grade, aluminum-alloy body that’s 500 pounds lighter than the previous version of this pickup, it may seem as if the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor was an easy pick for the Best Pickup Truck of 2017 Award. While the new Ford F-150 Raptor certainly has characteristics that make it stand out, the pickup still faced some stiff competition to win this prestigious award.
