The design isn't the only thing that's all-new about the next Ford Escape; as part of Ford's ongoing green initiatives, the new Escape uses 25 recycled 20-ounce plastic bottles in the carpeting of each vehicle. It's the first time Ford has used this type of carpeting in an SUV.
In addition to all the
green initiatives that our dealerships and management company already
employ, we are now partnering with Ray's Trash Service in
developing a company-wide recycling program. We will begin to place various
recycling bins throughout the dealerships to collect paper, cans and plastics.
It is our goal to begin a process where we can accumulate all mixed recyclables
and reduce the number of trash pickups per week.
Ford Motor Company has teamed up with General Mills for the Box Tops for Education program. Box Tops for Education began in 1996, and in the past 15 years more than 90,000 schools have earned over $400 million, including more than $59 million last school year. Ford is proud to be the first automaker to partner with General Mills on this initiative.

Ford's 2012 Focus Electric will come with an interesting accessory option- solar panels for your
house. Introducing its 'Drive Green for Life' program,Ford has announced that it is teaming with an
established solar provider, SunPower, to sell a solar energy system through
Ford dealers in conjunction with the Focus electric sedan that goes on sale
later this year.
