Super Bowling with NFL Stars!

Saturday gave Hoosiers another opportunity to join in the Super Bowl festivities with the Seventh Annual NFL Charities Super Bowl Celebrity Bowling Classic at Woodland Bowl on the Northside of Indianapolis. Tom Wood Automotive was a proud participant, donating a fleet of SUVs for VIP transportation and fielding a bowling team of their own! Andy Carr of Quality Leasing, Larry Heid of Tom Wood Management, Tim Branson of Tom Wood Ford, and Joe Santos of Tom Wood Volkswagen represented the Group and put together a second place finish. Great trophies, guys!

Aside from bowling with legendary NFL stars and Pro Football Hall of Fame members, the event offered a silent auction benefiting NFL Charities. The highlighted item was a firefighter's helmet bearing the number 343- the number of firefighters that perished on 9/11. The helmet was signed by the surviving spouses
and raised over $2,000.

Also in attendance were thirty members of the Wounded Warriors Project. The Warriors enjoyed the chance to meet grateful civilians and mingle with NFL VIPs, and participated in a worldwide broadcast courtesy of Sports Byline USA and the American Forces Network that reached 200 stations in the U.S. and 500 stations around the world, including our troops overseas.

The event was hosted by Super Bowl XII Champion and gridiron legend Ed "Too Tall" Jones.  Participating starts included: Lem Barney, Rodney Hampton, Parnell Dickinson, Keith Byars, Jim Taylor, Billy "White Shoes" Johnson, Lamonte Hunley, Ricky Hunley, Hank Bauer, Lance Smith, Carl Eller, Sean Landeta, Bart Oates, Rickey Jackson, Chuck Foreman, Tom Nowatzke, Jerry Kramer, Randall McDaniel, Garo Yepremian, Roger Wehrli, Curtis McGriff, Willie Buchanon, Brian Kelley, Fred Williamson, Brig Owens, Charles Haley, Joey Browner, Kent Kramer, Pete Shaw, Mark Clayton, Sandra Taylor, Erich Barnes, Charlie Sanders, Jan Stenerud, Michael Merriweather and Leroy Kelly.
